Hi:
I have just received and published a document concerning the 86.ID. It was written by survivors of the Division on the occasion of General der Infanterie Joachim Witthöft's 75th birthday. (23.09.1962)
Regards,
John

Hi:
I have published a new section of maps today. The maps are of Eastern Europe, primarily Russia, and the scale is 1:126000. Most of the maps were originally printed during the early part of the 20th Century. The section includes map series numbers I through XXXV (1-35). They are located in the Diverse Karten section and titled Трёхверстовка 1-126000 (Eastern Europe). There are about 1,000 maps. Maps of this vintage are valuable for a number of reasons. They are hard to find and they show towns and villages that were destroyed during the war and never rebuilt. Trying to follow descriptions of unit movements through and near towns and villages that are not on current maps is quite difficult.

John
