Hi:
I am now publishing a group of folders containing Allied documents. Most are about specific Divisions and then some miscellaneous documents. They are located under Allied Documentation/Allied Area and Unit Documents. They are all in English. More will follow. This material was donated by a generous researcher.
Regards,
John

Hi:
I have begun a project to compress many of the files on my FTP server. This is possible because of a new software package that was designed specifically for image compression with little loss in quality. I have just completed Situation Maps , Lage Ost for 1941. The original images were between 50MB and 90 MB. The files are now between 2MB and 5MB. This will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to download the files. Just the Situation Maps section contains over 2,700 maps so the overall project will take some time.
Regards,
John

Hi:
I have transferred all the material from my web site to my FTP server. Logins to the web site www.wwii-photos-maps.com will redirect to a web page that provides login information to the FTP server. The cost of the web site kept going up so I finally decided to cancel it. As soon as I can afford it I will increase the speed on the FTP server from 200 Mb to 400 Mb.
Regards,
John

Hi:
I have issued over 750 logins to my FTP server. I don't have the time to create the logins and send the information to the people requesting the access. The logins already issued will continue to work. Future logins will be anonymous FTP. This means the following login will work.
Host: jccalvin.ddns.net
Login ID: anonymous
Password: (no password is required)
Please remember that each researcher is allowed only one concurrent connection. People trying to make multiple connections continues to be a problem. Some people have had a problem accessing a new folder titled 'More Folders' but it should work now.
Thank you to all the people who have donated information to be stored on my server.
Regards,
John
