Hi:

Three weeks ago I installed an upgrade to my IPFire firewall.  This runs on a dedicated Linux computer.  It turns out that my IPS system "Guardian" is not compatible with the upgrade. I have spent two weeks trying to correct the problem, without success. Two days ago I build another FTP server and have been using that in addition to the old one.

Tomorrow I am installing a new commercial firewall/router Asus AC-3100 at a cost of $300.00.  When I am finished I will have a new FTP server and a backup server.  I am doing the best I can to correct the problem and to make it much less likely that it will occur again.

John

Hi:

As I am sure many of you know I have been having serious problems with users not being able to login.  I have been trouble shooting for more than a week without success.  I think I have come up with a temporary fix.  The following is the login that works for some of the people.

Host: jccalvin.ddns.net
Login ID: FTP-User-1 or FTP-User-2
Password: SKNVr8du
Protocol: Plain FTP
Port: 21
Passive FTP
No TLS over FTP

You can now use an alternative Host name:  jccalvin-2.ddns.net.  The other login info is the same.

I apologize for the problems and I am continuing working on a permanent resolution.

John

Hi:

Regarding the previous message.  FTP-User-2 can actually be used anytime you want.  It is just another login ID.

John
Hi:

I have added a second login to my FTP server.  If you see a message that says the max connections for FTP-User-1 has been reached try the following login.  Everything is the same except for the login ID which is FTP-User-2.

Host:  jccalvin.ddns.net
Login ID:  FTP-User-1 or FTP-User-2
Password:  SKNVr8du
Protocol:  Plain FTP
Port:  21
Passive FTP
No TLS over FTP

Hi:

I have increased the data transfer by increasing my Internet connection from 60 Mb to 100 Mb. Between this and adding QOS (Quality of Service) the data transfer rate should be improved by about 60%. The individual data transfer rate still depends on the number of people logged on to the server. The cost is not trivial but it really needed to be done. I hope this helps.

John
